Mike Harvkey is the author of the novel, In the Course of Human Events (Soft Skull Press, 2014), a "pick of the week" by Los Angeles Magazine, The Millions, and Publishers Weekly.
​
Recently Mike handled research and reporting for the New York Times #1 bestselling true crime book, All-American Murder (Little, Brown, 2018), by James Patterson & Alex Abramovich, about convicted killer and New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez.

Mike has written for Esquire, Poets & Writers, Salon, The Believer, Alaska Quarterly Review, Nylon, The L, Trunk, Fiction Writers Review, Four & Sons, Publishers Weekly, and other publications. He is the recipient of fellowships from MacDowell and Columbia University's MFA Program, and winner of short fiction awards from Zoetrope All-Story Magazine and Mississippi Review. Mike has taught Creative Writing at Columbia University and the University of California at Davis.

Mike is currently at work on two novels, Hysterical Men, the literary-fiction follow-up to In the Course of Human Events, and a popular fiction genre-buster co-written with Johanna Lane.
